My New Brain

When Dana’s younger daughter entered kindergarten and was learning how to read, Dana created My New Brain, an adorable little story that acknowledges her daughter’s challenges with listening and following directions but spotlights the importance of teaching her personal accountability.

*Handsaw aside, My New Brain is based on a true story.

Me, You, Ubuntu!

Ubuntu is an ancient African word that means I am because we are

When author and illustrator Dana Sardano began raising both her daughters, she committed to breaking unhealthy cycles and teaching her girls another way—a better way. Dana began to instill the philosophy of ubuntu into her child rearing to ensure that her children valued cooperation over competition, that they understood humanity is based on our humanness and our humanness begins with empathy and kindness. When Dana’s elder daughter entered kindergarten and was learning how to read, Dana created Me, You, Ubuntu, an adorable little story that celebrates sharing and caring.  Me, You, Ubuntu teaches children at an early age the importance of creating an environment that uplifts and empowers everyone! This endearing little story with its quirky artwork and powerful message has assisted in instilling the concept of unity within her own children and promises to ignite the Ubuntu spirit in your beginning readers too!

Soul Traveler Cards of Empowerment (Second Edition)

In collaboration with Ann Marie Skordy

Soul Traveler Cards of Empowerment includes fifty-six cards designed with beautiful artwork created by Dana Sardano and universal guidance channeled by Ann Marie Skordy, intended to enlighten and assist the traveling soul.

When Dana and Ann Marie met, they became fast friends, intuitively knowing they had a deeper connection beyond the here and now. By combining their creative strengths, they realized on a profound level that this collaboration had something quite special and inspiring to share with the world and each other.

The beauty of these cards is that they speak directly to your soul. There is no “right way” to use them. Pick one or pick ten…let them communicate with you in YOUR way, and most importantly, trust in the messages you are receiving.

Ten Recommandments Contemplation Journal

After writing Ten Recommandments for Personal Empowerment, Dana Sardano quickly realized that sometimes reading the information just isn’t enough. In order to truly effect positive change in your life, you must integrate and apply the information that you’ve learned, and one of the best ways to do that is through interactive writing.

With this newfound insight, Dana put on her teacher hat and created this Ten Recommandments Contemplation Journal to utilize in conjunction with the book. In this journal, Dana offers some guidance by adding open ended questions to assist with your contemplation. She includes some practice exercises to assist you with your integration. She throws in some “hot tips” to keep it interesting, and she wraps it up with a beautiful bow of insightful quotes. Ready to effect some positive changes in your life? Grab yourself a pencil!

Ten Recommandments for Personal Empowerment
(Second Edition)

Ten Recommandments for Personal Empowerment is a loose autobiography based on Dana's dysfunctional up-bringing and how she empowered herself and came out the other side. Showcasing this how-to meets autobiographical approach to her writing style, Dana uses anecdotes from her personal experiences, shares what she's gleaned from these experiences, and offers insights on how to work through personal trauma in a step-by-step manner. It's actually pretty amazing! Just ask her.

What Dana has learned through the process of self-exploration is that our personal empowerment is directly linked to our ability to look within and ultimately recognize that we are all interconnected, and we are all essentially in this together. She’s learned that she didn’t just suffer; we’ve all suffered. Our humanness is based in suffering and this suffering binds us and hopefully teaches us compassion for ourselves and others along the way. What she’s also learned is, at the end of the day, you and you alone are responsible for your own suffering, and when you begin taking the steps toward releasing that suffering, then you will truly feel empowered.

Ten Recommandments for Personal Empowerment is intended to reveal how Dana has learned to navigate life’s opportunities to learn, grow, and to overcome the more challenging obstacles with more grace and less discomfort than before and eventually even embrace these opportunities and to offer some insight into how you could do the same.

Dana’s hope is to educate both adults and children through all of her writing so that they can empower themselves and work together to create a new self-empowered, unity conscious generation.

Upon completion of Ten Recommandments in 2021, Dana painted cover girl “Chloe”—a masterpiece that beautifully expresses a girl who has become fully empowered. The original painting resides in Ubuntu Fish Gallery.

Beyond the Ten, Decoding the Woo Woo

Beyond the Ten, Decoding the Woo Woo, is a part two (of sorts) to Ten Recommandments for Personal Empowerment for two reasons—one, Dana’s “awakening” primarily came in two parts and two, she wanted to demystify the whole concept of spirituality through her own personal experience of “awakening”.

What Dana has learned up until now is that true personal empowerment, self-healing, and self-actualization come in layers. Also, each layer comes with its own trials and tribulations, its own flavor of how it appears before you, requires its own new and improved skill set taken from the previous layer, and its own brand of rewards once those trials and tribulations are overcome.

This process appears mystical and magical to those who have not yet uncovered the formulas and patterns, but when we begin to peel back the layers of self-protection and reverse our irrational belief systems and toxic behavioral patterns, we begin to see with more clarity and understand the steps that led us to our present circumstances and the path of our desired outcome(s) becomes illuminated by our awareness.

If you find yourself beginning to question all that you’ve been conditioned to believe about yourself and the world around you, then you are ready to unlock your patterns and uncover your formula. As Dana has mentioned repeatedly in Ten Recommandments for Personal Empowerment, she is always happy to help shine the light and offer perspective through the lens of HER story, but at the end of the day, only you know what’s best for you, and if you are aware and willing and most importantly honest with yourself, listen to your inner wisdom because after all, this is YOUR life—this is YOUR story.

I Am the Captain

In collaboration with Angela DiMarco

I Am the Captain is a series of short stories reflecting on life’s trials and tribulations. By authentically sharing the overcoming of common experiences such as divorce, childhood trauma, PTSD, miscarriage, friendships, surviving cancer, and entrepreneurship, Angela’s hope is that people who see themselves in similar situations will be inspired to dive into their overcoming as well. Through writing and music, Angela was able to integrate the lessons and truly become the captain of her ship and she invites you to rediscover your light and become the captain of yours.
